Paul Faris
BiographyPaul is the Executive Director of Home School Legal Defence Association of Canada. For the last five years he has served homeschooling families across Canada through the work of HSLDA in the Courts, the House of Commons, the Senate, provincial legislatures and ministries of education, in the media, and wherever else necessary. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences across Canada. Paul lives in London, Ontario with his wife, Suzanne and his daughter, Abigail. Both Paul and Suzanne were homeschooled. Opening keynote - Reflections of a Guinea PigAs a first-generation homeschooler, Paul has watched the home schooling movement grow and develop from the perspective of a “guinea pig”. He has also watched his six younger brothers and sisters experience homeschooling. Paul offers his experience as a homeschooled child and where he sees the homeschool movement going in the future.
Closing Keynote - Home Education: Changing the World One Child at a TimeHomeschooling has often been a quiet movement, with families simply going about their own education with little pomp or fuss. The implications of what they have been doing are massive. Homeschooling has been, and continues to be, massively successful. This success will not only change the lives of homeschooled students, but of everyone they come in contact with. It is truly a world changing movement.
